We believe privacy should be simple. We built Bank Extract so you can process data on YOUR machine, so we don't have to see it, store it, or protect it.
The "We Don't Want Your Data" Policy
Our business model is selling software, not data. Bank Extract does not have technical access to your PDFs, bank accounts, or transactions. They never reach our servers.
Bank Extract is intended for users aged 13 and older. By using this software, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
1. What We Collect (and Why)
We practice "Data Minimization". We only collect the absolute minimum required to keep your account running.
We DO NOT Collect
- ยทThe content of your PDFs.
- ยทBank account numbers.
- ยทTransaction details.
- ยทClient names or any financial data.
We ONLY Collect
- ยทYour email (to deliver your license key).
- ยทLicense status (active or not).
- ยทAn anonymous device identifier (to track seat count).
- ยทPurchase history (via Paddle, our payment processor).
2. How the License Works
Bank Extract is a desktop app. Your files never leave your computer. Here's how the license system handles internet connectivity, simply and transparently.
Activation
You activate once
Enter your email and license key. A one-time ping verifies your purchase and that's it. The app is yours.
Days 1 โ 89
100% offline
No internet required. Work freely for up to 89 days. Your PDFs and data stay entirely on your machine.
Day 60+
Silent background check
Starting at day 60 of the activation, the app quietly verifies your license in the background. You'll see a small โ confirmation modal and then it disappears. Nothing to do.
What happens on Day 90?
If the silent check couldn't complete (no internet between day 60-89), a reactivation modal appears on day 90. Simply re-enter your email and license key to continue. It takes 10 seconds.
During any check, the only data sent to our servers:
Data Retention
Bank Extract licenses are lifetime. They DO NOT expire. The following describes exactly how long we hold your data and under what conditions it is deleted.
Active License
We retain your email address, license key, and anonymous device identifier for the lifetime of your active license. This data is required to validate your software access.
Suspended License
If your license enters a suspended state, for example, after 90 consecutive days without an internet connection, your data is untouched. We do not modify, delete, or do anything with it. We may reach out to your registered email to confirm everything is okay. Your access resumes the moment you reconnect and reactivate.
Revoked or Terminated License
If your license is terminated due to a technical refund, a confirmed violation of our Terms of Service, or detected fraudulent activity, all associated data will be permanently deleted from our database and your account will be permanently banned.
Third-Party Services We Use
We work with the following trusted services to operate Bank Extract. Each receives only the data strictly necessary to perform its function.
Paddle.com
Merchant of Record โ payments, tax, VAT
Receives your name, email address, and payment details to process your purchase and issue the license trigger to our system.
Resend
Transactional email delivery
Receives your email address and license key to deliver your purchase confirmation. Triggered automatically by Paddle's encrypted webhook.
Google Analytics
Website analytics
Receives anonymous usage data and IP address to help us understand how users navigate the website. Only loaded with your consent.
3. Secure Payments
We use Paddle.com as our authorized Merchant of Record to handle all payments. We do not store your credit card information. Paddle handles VAT, tax compliance, and payment security on a global level. So you don't have to worry about your payment data leaking from our side.
4. No External AI / Cloud APIs
Many tools send your files to OpenAI or Google Cloud to process them. We don't. We use local, coordinate-based algorithms (TextBounds) that run strictly on your CPU. Your documents stay within your local environment at all times, even when offline.
5. You Are in Control (GDPR & CCPA)
Whether you are in Europe (GDPR), California (CCPA), or anywhere else, we believe you own your data. Since we only hold your email and license key, accessing or deleting your data is simple. If you want us to delete your account record entirely, just email us and we will process it within 30 days.
6. Data Responsibility
Because Bank Extract operates locally, the security of your documents depends on the security of your own computer.
Your Device: Please keep your computer free of malware. If your device is compromised, any file on it (including your PDFs) could be at risk โ that is outside our control.
Accuracy: While our algorithms are precise, you (the professional) are responsible for verifying the final Excel output before filing taxes or making financial decisions.
7. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies solely for website performance and analytics (Google Analytics). These cookies help us understand how many people visit our website. These cookies DO NOT have access to your local files, PDFs, or bank data. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify you by email. Continued use of Bank Extract after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
